Do you need a why to Lose Weight

"Forced Reality" can give you your "why" to lose weight. Why do you want to lose weight? Of course everybody says " I want to lose x amount of weight" but that is not good enough for if it were you would have probably already lost that amount by now. One of the reasons that your ‘why’ must be strong is that we all have a tendency to distort reality.

When our marriage is in trouble we distort reality and say that its okay.

When our finances are out of control we distort reality and say it is okay.

When we are over weight we distort reality and say we are okay, we are not over weight by that much and we will lose the weight when we get ready too. It is not until we are "forced to deal with reality" when we can no longer distort reality, that we are finally forced to deal with “reality” the way it is and not how we make it to be.

It’s when the husband or wife wants a divorce that we see our marriage is not okay, when our house is foreclosed on that we see our finances are not okay. It’s when we have a heart attack and see that our weight is not okay.

If you think you are okay weight wise, get a glucose meter and measure your glucose levels.

If you think you are okay weight wise, get a blood pressure monitor and measure your blood pressure.

If you think you are okay weight wise get your cholesterol levels checked and see if you are okay.

You are not okay. Your blood pressure, glucose levels, your cholesterol number do not lie. You can’t distort them they are reality. The good part is once you see those numbers they can give you a strong motivator to lose weight. Numbers don’t lie. Use them to lose the weight you need, let the numbers scare you to death so that you can change. “Forced Reality” will always exert itself.
