Desperate To Lose Weight

Many of us dream of an ideal body size and weight for ourselves. Incidentally, our dreams about ‘ideal size’ are often based on the pictures we see on magazine covers: those of size-zero models and celebrities. In short, we want to have a body like that of our favourite celebrity. Most of us also have a "trouble spot" that seems to be the bone of contention; we hate that spot so much that we want to get rid of it quickly. For some, it is either those flabby arms or large buttocks.

You may try many diets and exercise methods with little success that you ,may develop somewhat of an aversion to both of these weight loss methods. You keep searching for a weight loss solution that doesn’t involve the use of either fad diets or long and intense workouts.

Contrary to what you might be thinking, it is not another fad diet that I discovered but an invaluable weight loss tip. You can achieve weight loss by eating the right foods at the right time. By "right foods", I don’t mean that you need to go shopping for low-fat or low-calorie foods. Far from that, I think you should eat foods that provide the maximum amount of nutrition, while discarding the worthless junk.

It is important that you don’t restrict yourself only to ‘low-calorie’ or ‘low-fat’ foods. This is the reason why most diet diets don’t work. If you follow a fad diet, you are sure to hit the weight loss plateau sometime or the other!

You eat foods to increase your metabolic rate, and when you eat the same type of foods day after day, your metabolism adjusts itself to it. So, if you eat only low-calorie foods , your metabolic rate will be low at all times because your body knows that it needs to burn only a few calories. Ideally, you’ll need a low GI foods list to identify which foods contain what.

The trick is to eat foods with varying calorie content. Remember that calories don’t matter as much as the source of the calories. Which means that you can eat 10 apples and still not gain weight while, if you eat 10 burgers or pizzas you will gain weight fast!

So far as exercises are concerned, they are not mandatory, but if you do them, you will burn even more calories. Unless you are a regular gym hitter (if you have been one then you wouldn’t have become overweight in the first place), I would advise you to stay out of the gym and focus on increasing your physical activity level by doing normal activities, such as playing, swimming, dancing, jogging, running, walking, etc. Doing normal activities is far easier than working out in the gym. Most people start working out with all the enthusiasm but soon they become bored with their workout routine and quit it altogether!
